In some quality investigative blogging, Catsandbeer.com have discovered the accurate list of books that Sarah Palin is known to have banned.  It's amazing the lengths the "right" will go to in order to keep things spinning their way!

Particle Physics Rap, Yo

I'm often proud of my alma mater, Michigan State, for numerous reasons (football rarely being one of them) but you have to love when another student does the University proud.

Take, for instance, Alpine Kat's (Kate McAlpine) rap on the Large Hadron Collider set to turn on in a matter of days. Sure, sure, this is the same device that some predict will destroy the world, but once you listen to Kate's rap you'll feel much better about the scientific benefits of the supercollider.

Who knew rapping was so educational?

Creating Custom Clothing- for Cash!

One of the great inventions of the internet, if you'd like to call it an invention, is the ease of creating your very own creative clothing store. With just a bit of thought and just a bit of humor and not very much artistic ability necessary, you can create some top-notch clothing online and potentially make some good cash doing so (if you're one of the lucky ones!)

There are some outstanding novelty T-shirt stores out there... www.Jinx.com being one of my personal favorites. But there's something very fun in coming up with that perfect quote or idea and seeing it envisioned on your very own T-shirt- and then watching others want to pay you for loving that creation.

There are several stores of this sort online, but I recommend shop.Cafepress.com, it's the most recognized and therefore your potential sales will be highest due to the customer base and name recognition. Feel free to find your own substitute though... just make sure to read the fine print!

Spore: New "Space Portion" Video!

It's getting insanely close to the launch of what is bound to be the best computer game of all time (at least so far as my tastes in games go) in Spore, coming out early September!

Here's a view of one of the most asked about segments of gameplay: The space portion.

A Shave and a Haircut... Worthy of Revenge?

On the brilliant nightly technology news-magazine "Attack of the Show", one of the formulas for success is the brilliant chemistry between the co-hosts Kevin Pereira and Olivia Munn. This dynamic duo is always willing to push the limits with each other, but last night's episode ended with a particularly memorable moment of television comedy- at the expense of Kevin's shiny 'do.

For those dying to see the outcome of this spur of the moment laugh-fest, be sure to catch tonight's AOTS, where Kevin will surely seek revenge.

Run, Olivia! Run away!

EDIT: The revenge is served... mwahahaha! (Good sport, Olivia!)

Australians Making Fun of New Zealand Accents

Flight of the Conchords, the hysterical comedy folk duo, shared this on their MySpace blog recently, being that it enraged them (and their silly accents).

Where's the love, Australia?

Well, now that's you've enjoyed that... how about the hard trance remix?

Paris Hilton Embarasses the Warpublican Candidate!

As you may have heard, there's a tiny presidential election happening in the U.S. later this year... it's barely been in the news or anything, since it's not at all important that Obama wins and the United States gets back on the right track or instead end up dying like the Roman Empire under its corrupt and warmongering ways.

So to catch you up, there's actually another guy (or possibly skeleton, it's hard to say which) running against our next president on the Warpublican ticket, and his name is John McCain. His political team decided to run a typical Warpublican spin ad trying to claim soon-to-be-President Obama is not "experienced" enough to be president, and compared him to being just a celebrity like Britney Spears or Paris Hilton.

The Hilton family was quite justifiably angered by this lie, and the inappropriate use of Paris's image to serve John McOhMyGodHeIsSoVeryMuchToOldToBePresident's purposes.

Enter the awesome (if not political sound) revenge from http://www.funnyordie.com...

See more Paris Hilton videos at Funny or Die

You may hate Paris, for whatever reason, but this is hysterical and totally burned John McYetMoreOfBushLeadingToTheInevitableDestructionOfTheUnitedStates's campaign.

Score yet another point for Obama!

Dr. Horrible's Genius Web Film

I fully intended to write up a lovely post informing everyone of this amazing new web-film effort by the genius that is Joss Whedon (don't worry Joss... we won't let Firefly die, ever!) called "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" and starring Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day...

Well, I don't have to do the work any longer, because Becky "Aktrez" Young from the great community over at the Girls Entertainment Network (guys quite welcome) already beat me to the punch. Why not swing by the G.E.N. site (you should be visiting anyways- it's packed to the brim with creativity) and watch the video?

You will fall in love with it, guaranteed. It's brilliant.

The Humans Are Dead

If you're not yet aware of New Zealand's fourth most popular folk comedy duo band, and haven't jumped into the fan conga line in watching their HBO show (conveniently titled "Flight of the Conchords", and funny as hell) here's all you need to see to reserve your bandwagon seat (and probably pea your pants laughing.)

To Do List of Prince's... Master the Guitar: Check.

There's few things that can be more creative than music, and Prince is legendary in his abilities. Even when performing someone else's music, he inserts a level of creativity that other artists lack- which is why he is judged above all the rest.

Need proof?

Witness this work from his Hall of Fame induction ceremony that left his crowd of peers speechless.

Interesting point: Prince never called himself "The Artist Formerly Known as Prince"... the media assigned him the moniker when he temporarily began performing under his famous logo in order to negotiate a loophole in his stifling contract with Warner Brothers. The catch? The highly stylistic logo is unpronounceable, and the media insisted on a name they could say!

A small social experiment performed (at his amusement) while wriggling out of oppressive contract limitations? This is why he's a certified genius.

It's also why this won't be the last you see of him here on Effect 37!
